San Jose police are investigating a 59-year-old man accused of molesting several young girls dating back to the late 1970s. Dean Aubrey Geistlinger Sr., who lived in San Jose in the 70s and 80s, was arrested June 1 in Roseville and charged with committing lewd and lascivious acts upon a child. Police say he also committed assaults in Lincoln, Nebraska.
San Jose detectives began looking into Geistlinger in March, when a woman accused him of molesting her several years ago when she participated in a sleep-over with Geistlinger's daughter at his San Jose home, San Jose Police Detective William Hoyt said.
Geistlinger, a laborer, most recently was employed in metal work. Police have not indicated he ever worked directly with children, but some victims allege that Geistlinger used alcohol and drugs to lure teenagers to his home and then began sexual relationships with the girls.
Police are urging anyone with information on the case to contact Detective William Hoyt at (408) 277-4102 or via e-mail at william.hoyt@sanjoseca.gov . Those wishing to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at (408) 947-STOP.
